ORIGINAL STORY: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Historical Village has changed the way people can donate money.

The village has added an endowment fund, which will be run by the Capitol Region Community Foundation.

This is going to be a better way to do things in terms of donations, since running a fund for a small volunteer based non-profit like the Historical Village would require a lot of work of one person.

The endowment fund will also help plan out how the money will be spent in the future.

"And so, we had our first quarter report and we're already had a surprising amount of return on that investment. As responsible managers of the funds that our members entrust to us, we want to make sure we're going to get that best bang for the buck," said Jane Rose, Executive Director of the Historical Village.

The endowment fund was started in December.
