UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Before you start celebrating the 4th of July, you may want to listen to what the township is saying about a new fireworks law. Because Meridian Township's law regarding fireworks, the board is coming up with a solution to keep the neighborhood on the quiet side.

"Whenever the legislature changes state laws, municipalities need to sometimes react and change their own ordinances which often reflect upon the state laws," said Treasurer Julie Brixie.

The board had a discussion of what days, times and under what circumstances fireworks may be set off. The board is also discussing which ages require supervision and what age is appropriate to be unsupervised.
