HOMTV Alumni Reunion & Tailgate

On Saturday, October 16th at noon, the Michigan State Spartans will take on the University of Illinois Fighting Illini. HOMTV will host a pre-game tailgate event to get Spartans pumped up and get HOMTV graduates back together for our annual alumni reunion.

Attendees will enjoy great food and drinks sponsored by HOMTV and staff. New this year is a chance to win prizes. Lucky participants of HOMTV sponsored games will have a chance to win a blanket, t-shirt, or many other fine prizes. The tailgate starts at 8am and takes place at the Farm Lane and Mt. Hope Road parking lot. Look for the HOMTV banner.

This event is an excellent opportunity to catch up with alums you interned with, meet other alumni members, catch up with each other, network with new members and talk Spartans.

The Farm Lane Parking lot location is great because it is free parking, easy access to get to from major roads and highways, and a little less on the rowdy side but still loads of Spartan spirit fun. Shuttle bus service is available from Lot 89 at the corner of Mt. Hope Road and Farm Lane. The shuttle starts two hours before the game and returns for a reasonable amount of time after the game. The cost is $4 per game for a round trip ticket. Parking is free.

Going to the game? Check MDOT traffic information online first

August 31, 2010 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is once again making game day traffic information for University of Michigan, Michigan State University and Detroit Lions football fans available on the MDOT Web site at www.michigan.gov/mdot.

You can find "Getting to the Game" information at www.michigan.gov/gettingtothegame or by clicking on the "Getting to the Game" icon on the MDOT Web site home page. Game day travel alerts will be updated regularly throughout the season.

Wherever possible, construction on home game days surrounding events in East Lansing and Ann Arbor will be suspended and lanes reopened. However, several MDOT projects still will have restrictions in place on game days and MDOT urges motorists to drive with caution in the work zones.

For up-to-date information on state roadways (US, M and I routes), go to the list of statewide lane closures at: www.michigan.gov/drive. Follow MDOT at www.twitter.com/MichiganDOT or www.facebook.com/MichiganDOT.
