Attempted Armed Robbery At Kroger in Meridian Township

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Meridian Township Police responded to an attempted armed robbery in a Kroger parking lot on April 8, 2018, at 12:13pm located on 4884 Marsh Rd.

The victim involved reported that a male suspect had approached her in the parking lot and threatened her with a gun.

The victim was not injured.

Shortly after the suspect fled the scene and the victim called for help.

The suspect was observed by witnesses as leaving the area in a red sedan that was headed southbound on Central Park Drive.

The Ingham County Sheriff's Department observed the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle at which a pursuit began.

The suspect was eventually caught after a canine track led to his whereabouts.

The suspect has been identified as 24 year-old Michael Jermel Mountain. He has been lodged in the Ingham County Sheriff's Department.

Mountain has been arraigned in the charges of Armed Robbery, Receiving and Concealing Stolen Vehicle, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon with Unlawful Intent, Felony Firearm, and Habitual 2.

Mountain's bond has been set at $100,000 cash surety.
