Dr. Catherine Ash Retires from Okemos Public Schools

LANSING - In celebration of her retirement serving as the Okemos School District Superintendent for over 20 years, a retirement party was held for Dr. Catherine Ash on June 13th.

Hosted at the The View in Lansing, the guest list included family, friends, teachers, coworkers and Meridian Township Board members. Each spoke on their personal memories, relationships, and experiences with Dr. Ash, as well as thanked her for all her hard work and dedication.

"Your wisdom exudes character exudes, your leadership resonates. Your leadership legacy, Dr. Ash is characterized by being an artful leader and listener. And for that, we thank you. " said Interim Superintendent Melanie Lynn.

During the party, Dr. Ash received multiple awards from the Okemos School Board, Meridian Township Board and from the Michigan Legislature - which was signed by Gov. Rick Snyder and Lt. Governor Brian Calley.
