Hillbrook Park Receives Some New
Renovations

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - For the third time this year the Meridian Township Park Commission hosted a ribbon cutting. This time the celebration took place in Hillbrook Park.

With funding from the park millage, Hillbrook Park received new playground equipment, renovation to the tennis and basketball courts, new landscaping and fencing, and new three new pickleball courts.

Park Commission Chair Michael McDonald spoke at the ceremony and acknowledge the community played a big part in allowing the renovations to happen in Meridian Township's local parks.

"Thanks again to those folks who voted to support the millage and I'm looking forward to a few more, many not yet this fall, but next year and the years to come," McDonald said.

Along with many renovations, the Park Commission also worked with the Drain Commission who planted 30 new trees in the park.

The Drain Commission will soon have to remove some trees at Hillbrook Park in order to do some work on the Nemoka Drain located in the park. The Drain Commission planted new trees to replace the ones that will be lost at a ratio of 3 to 1.
