OKEMOS - Friday Feb. 12 was the 33rd annual Daddy Daughter Dance. It was held at Okemos High School by Okemos Community Education.

Linda Arens, Okemos Community Education Coordinator, said that there were over 620 participants at the dance. Although the program is held for kindergarten-sixth grade, there were a few little siblings that joined them at the event.

Cameron Williams, father of 5th grade student Elizabeth Williams said that he came out to spend time with his daughter.

Elizabeth said, "Its a nice special event to be with your daughter and just come out and dance."

They both expressed that this was about their 5th year coming out to the event, and plan to continue going because they really enjoy the event.

B.K. Carter, father of Sarah D. Carter, said when he found out about the Daddy Daughter Dance, he booked a flight from Florida to make sure that he could spend time with this daughter that night.
