Haslett Eliminated from Playoffs, Falls
to Dewitt for the 15th Time in a Row

DEWITT - Going into the game, Dewitt had beaten Haslett 14 times in a row. Last time the two teams faced off, there was a lot of intensity, culminating with the coaches getting into an argument in the handshake line. That energy undoubtedly carried over into Friday.

The game stayed close for most of the first quarter, but just before halftime Dewitt started to run away with it. Turnovers were a hug factor in that momentum shift.

Dewitt's first score came on an interception returned for a touchdown, and Haslett quarterback Jake Tahaney had a habit of finding the Dewitt secondary all day, throwing four total interceptions.

With that many turnovers, Haslett didn't have much of a chance. Dewitt was able to capitalize on most of them, and took home the win 38-20.

"We're very excited, you beat Haslett again, and they were fired up to play them, you know, and I loved our heart tonight and I think they'll be very excited to play St. Johns," said Dewitt head coach Rob Zimmerman.
