GolfFest Raises Money For Those In

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Community Resources Commission held their annual GolfFest fundraiser this weekend for the Emergency Needs Fund.

Township residents came together at the Meridian Sun Golf Club for a friendly game of golf for a good cause. This has been tradition for Meridian Township for 17 years.

All of the funds raised at the event will go to families in the Township that are in of need assistance.

"It's for people who have situation where they can't pay their rent, their utilities bill high, they need medications, they need transportation and this is our major fundraiser," said Chair of the Community Resources Commission, Suzanne Brouse.

Their were raffle tickets and prize giveaways at the event. This year's event raised over $5,000.

Through this fundraiser last year 64 Meridian Township families were able to received assistance.

Contributions to the Meridian Township Community Resources Commission Emergency Needs Fund are accepted year round.
