UPDATE: OKEMOS - Businesses in Meridian Township and surrounding areas are proving to be eco-friendly with their efforts to go green.

Business' that are going green came together and spoke about their current programs and upcoming recycling efforts. Food co-ops, community gardens, local stores and other business' informed each other on new ways to recycle in the community.

"It was very informative," said Ayesha Aleksov, who works at Direct Mail Advantage. "I learned a lot about whats going on in the community, whose doing what, where i can recycle additional things, whats coming to our community."

Playmakers is an active green star business who spoke about efforts to collect tennis shoes that will be recycled or donated.
