MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Recycling Center hosted their annual spring recycling event on Saturday April 25th at the Chippewa Middle school.

Traffic was directed through the parking lot at volunteers helped residents unload their unwanted goods.

Some volunteers were students looking to obtain volunteer hours while other volunteers were just happy to help.

"I am a volunteer with Meridian recycling. I've volunteered for several years and it's just fun way to just be involved with the community."

Glass, clothing, furniture, household appliances, and many other items were all accepted at the event.

Mattress, box springs, television and computer monitors were all accepted as well for a small $10 fee.

If you missed the recycling event, residents can always drop off their unwanted items at the Meridian Recycling Center.

Their next recycling event will be held in the fall.
