MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Fishing Derby is back at it again after a great turn out on Valentine's Day for a chilly day of ice fishing. This will be the eighth annual Meridian Fishing Derby!

Kids ages 5 to 16 are encouraged to come to the Central Park Pond in the Meridian Historical Village on June 13th from 9 AM to noon.

This event is being held in conjunction with the Michigan DNR's "Free Fishing Weekend," when all residents and visitors to Michigan can fish without a license.

A limited number of fishing poles will be available on site at the event on a first come, first serve basis. Prizes will be awarded for the largest, second largest and smallest fish!
