MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Police Department held their annual awards ceremony on March 26 to honor exceptional officers and citizens.

Officer Curt Squires was this year's Officer of the Year recipient.

Other police department honorees included officer Erin Lynn, who received the Award of Valor, and Jason Clements, who received two life saving awards.

"Life saving is extra special, catching a bad guy in a bad circumstance is extra special...and people need to be recognized for that," said Meridian Township Chief of Police David Hall.

In addition to recognizing the efforts of officers, the police department also recognized the efforts of several active citizens who played crucial roles in solving a case or saving a life.
