MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department has completed their annual report and are currently working on some new improvements to be made to Wonch Park.

The grant requesting to build a paved multi-use loop trail in the park has been received by the Natural Resources Trust Fund. This will help to accommodate pedestrians who wish to visit the park.

In addition to this, there has also been a request for a grant to build a new pavilion. This project will be at an estimated cost of $250,000. The difference between this new octagon shaped pavilion is that it will be fully furnished with water supply as well as electricity.

The public hearing date for the Wonch Park Grant has been set for the next Park Commission Meeting which is on March 11 at 7 p.m. in the Town Hall.
