Haslett Marathon Honors Customers With Cheap Gas And More

Haslett Marathon Honors Customers
With Cheap Gas And More

UPDATE: HASLETT - A year after Haslett Marathon had to deal with their canopy collapsing over their gas pumps, they celebrated their loyal customers that stuck with them the whole way through.
It was a way to say thanks, as owner Matt Lentz lowered gas prices to three dollars and 19 cents. This was almost twenty cents lower than most other gas stations in the area.
Customers had opportunities to spin a prize wheel that could earn them gas gift cards or even cash in hand. There was also a grill running to serve free hot dogs to anyone who stopped by to fill up for the weekend.
Lentz said the customers are the biggest reason his business is still afloat. He said they stuck with him through the rough times, in brutal weather, and still chose his gas station when the canopy collapsed.
Lentz also said the numbers were hard to swallow when he had to deal with the cost of replacing the canopy. He said it was at least 50,000 dollars.
Customer appreciation day is something the Haslett Marathon station puts on every year, with the exception of last year due to the accident.
