Meet the Spartans

Meet the Spartans

UPDATE: EAST LANSING, MI - Spartan fans gathered in downtown East Lansing, Tuesday the 14th, for the annual "Meet the Spartans" event.

Fans were able to meet and greet with their favorite Michigan State football players, take pictures, and receive autographs from the offense, defense, and MSU head coach Mark Dantonio.

Spartan fan Todd Swartz arrived with his son for the first time on Tuesday night. Swartz had been trying to get up to the event for the past ten years to meet the players, Dantonio, and take a picture with Sparty.

Swartz was quick to respond when asked what some of his favorite things were about Spartan football.

"A lot of it has to do with the student athlete and I think that Dantonio has brought that back to Michigan State," said Swartz. "I'm really looking forward to watching them play this year...not only do they win, but they are fun to watch."

Chandler Aldrich wore a Spartan block S on his face and exclaimed his favorite part about being at the event was to get his shirt signed by the Spartans.

"They have been my favorite for as long as I can remember," said Aldrich.

The Spartans are now less than two weeks away from their season opener against Boise State on August 30th, which will be played at Spartan Stadium.
