Scholarships

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Due to an increase in requests for scholarships for various recreation and sports activities, the Parks Department is in the process of developing a new scholarship policy and also establishing a scholarship fund.

Previously, the township absorbed the cost of the scholarships, but it has gotten to the point where they are no longer able to do so. They are starting a scholarship fund which will be maintained through donations. There will also be a fundraising event at Douglas J Aveda Institute in East Lansing near the end of may. Twenty percent of all money spent on services will go towards the fund.

Scholarship applicants will need to meet eligibility requirements to be awarded a scholarship. They are able to receive one scholarship per season that will cover up to fifty percent of the program cost. This also includes all activities at the Harris Nature Center.
