LAKE LANSING SOUTH - The Lake Lansing Bandshell is open for the summer after a long break due to COVID-19. The first show back was on June 4 and brought out many community members.

Bandshell Chair President, Aengus McIntosh, is excited to see the community getting together again and enjoying the performances.

“We had a huge crowd, everybody was fired up. It was good to see people out and moving around,” McIntosh said.

The local business surrounding the Bandshell The Mayfair, Bluegill Grill, Cheezy D’s, and The Watershed are welcoming of Bandshell attendees. Mcintosh recommends parking at Lake Lansing then walking to dine.

“They see an influx in business, Friday is a big night for everybody in that business,” McIntosh said, “So when you bring an extra 800 to 1000 people to this venu and they wanna go out and tear it up, it's great and it’s had a big economic influx to this corner throughout the course of the summer.”

This year is the first year the Bandshell has a social media and promotions intern on their team. Jazz Singh works every week to promote the Bandshell’s Friday nights events.

“I have been seeing a lot of growth. We reached an audience of 100 people more than last time,” Signh said.

Singh reaches out to local businesses for sponsorships and promotes the Bandshell on social media.

The Bandshell will continue throughout the summer every Friday at 7 pm until August 27. For more information about the Bandshell a video is below.
