Meijer Gives Back to Meridian Township

Meijer Gives Back to Meridian Township

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the May 21 Meridian Township Board meeting, Meijer presented Meridian Township with a check for $1,700. The donation from Meijer will go towards equipment for the Meridian Township Police Department that was not budgeted, but that was needed.

Police Sergeant Ed Besonen, who spearheaded the program and worked with Meijer, explained that the donation would go towards tourniquets and tourniquet holders for every road patrol officer.

Sergeant Besonen explained, "It's a vital piece of equipment that we could use. Having it on our belts with the rest of our tools that are on our belts will be a big benefit in the event of a severe bleed."

Meijer representatives, Jim Green and Ron Colsen came to present the check for the donation. Ron Colsen thanked the Township and Police Department for keeping the community safe where their customers and team members live and shop.
